The Programs We Offer At Francis Lewis High School for the ISS Department
Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT)
-
Students with disabilities who receive Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) services are educated with age-appropriate peers in the general education classroom. ICT provides access to the general education curriculum and specially designed instruction to meet students’ individual needs.
Self-Contained
-
Students with disabilities who receive self-contained classes are grouped together because of similar individual needs so they can receive specially designed instruction. In self-contained classes, the content, methodology, or delivery of instruction is adapted to ensure each student has access to the general curriculum and the opportunity to meet the educational standards that apply to all students.
Alternate Assessment
-
Students with disabilities who receive alternate assessment classes are unable to participate in regular state assessments even with accommodations. These classes provide alternate formats aligned to the grade-level content that define proficiency differently from the general assessment and give students specifically designed instruction to meet their individual academic needs.
